Law firm Clifford Chance has elected 22 lawyers to its partnership, including three from the US.
Avrohom Gelber, Gareth Old and Jason Young all work in the firm’s New York office.

Gelber practices international tax law, focusing on cross-border finance and capital markets transactions. He also provides tax and structuring advice for a wide variety of international financial and business transactions, including investment funds, private equity investments, corporate acquisitions and restructurings, and derivative financial instruments. He received his J.D. from Columbia University where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
Old is a capital markets attorney who concentrates on derivatives and securitization work. He advises international clients on a variety of matters, including credit and other types of derivatives, covered bonds and structured securities, and has an expanding role in the firm’s commodity trading practice, including in the energy and emissions sector. Old graduated from Nottingham Law School in the UK and previously worked in Clifford Chance’s Hong Kong, London and Frankfurt offices.
Young is a finance and restructuring attorney who advises major domestic and foreign financial institutions and corporate borrowers in secured and unsecured financing transactions. His practice covers acquisition and leveraged financing, sports financing, structured financing, asset financing, refinancing and restructuring, and a variety of other domestic and international financing transactions. He earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School before clerking for US District Judge Helen G. Berrigan, Eastern District of Louisiana.
