Glocap Search taps former industry pro to head venture capital private equity practice

Glocap Search has named Sachi Gahan as head of the firm’s newly combined Venture Capital and Private Equity practices. Gahan, who was also promoted to Glocap’s five member management committee, is a managing director based in Glocap’s San Francisco office.

Prior to joining Glocap Gahan was a principal at venture capital firms in San Francisco and Austin, Texas. Earlier in her career, she was in the Office of the Chairman at Dell.

In 2010, under Gahan’s leadership, Glocap successfully completed over forty investment professional assignments at venture capital, growth equity, and tech buyout firms throughout the US, addressing clients’ needs across a wide range of sectors including tech, healthcare, energy and natural resources.  During that time, Gahan personally placed both partners and associates into several leading venture capital firms, with a focus on high growth subsectors such as consumer Internet and greentech.

"Glocap’s Venture Capital practice has grown considerably since Sachi joined the firm three years ago, despite the recent economic downturn," says Adam Zoia, CEO and co-founder of Glocap. "I am delighted to welcome Sachi to the firm’s management committee, which will benefit from her experience in corporate strategy, venture capital, and executive recruiting."

The Private Equity practice has been a core business for Glocap since the firm’s establishment in 1997, led during that time by Brian Korb (pictured), co-founder of Glocap.  Effective immediately, the Venture Capital and Private Equity businesses will be combined and renamed as a single practice, reflecting changes in the sector, such as the increasing participation of venture capital firms in growth equity deals. As co-founder, Korb will continue to work closely with Gahan and her growing team, providing insights developed through his thirteen years of successful partnerships with a wide range of private equity firms, including buyout and middle market funds around the world.
