Hastings Funds Management has appointed new members to its European infrastructure investment team.

Previously senior vice president at Macquarie Capital Europe, Schubert has significant experience in originating and executing M&A transactions, building teams and originating, structuring and syndicating debt financing packages, particularly in the electricity, gas and renewable energy industries.

Earlier in the year Hastings announced the expansion of its global infrastructure debt team. In April, Nick Cleary and Tim Cable joined the debt team as directors infrastructure debt. Prior to joining Hastings, they held senior positions in Westpac Institutional Bank, where Cleary was director, project and infrastructure finance and Cable was director infrastructure and utilities.

Hastings chief executive Andrew Day says: “These appointments ensure that we have senior and specialised investment expertise across both infrastructure equity and debt in each of the major global capital markets to support our clients and capitalize on the opportunities in infrastructure investing currently available throughout the Northern Hemisphere.”

Hastings has also boosted its business development and transaction resources with the appointment of Nadia Karkar as an associate director in the firm’s Melbourne office. She joins Hastings from international law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where she specialised in M&A and private equity in their Hong Kong and New York offices.
