CMS announces new private equity leadership

International law firm CMS has announced the new leadership structure for its UK and CEE private equity sector.

James Grimwood (pictured), recently announced as the global CMS PE leader, will also lead the UK PE sector team. He is a partner in the corporate department with extensive experience in advising on a wide range of PE transactions. Grimwood’s experience spans development capital deals through to high value, cross border buy-outs.

For CEE, the international PE sector group will be co-led by David Butts and Graham Conlon. Butts is a partner with considerable expertise on a broad range of PE, corporate and commercial matters. He has advised on various M&A transactions in Europe over the last 10 years, including several involving PE investors.

Conlon is a partner and has focused almost exclusively on PE and M&A transactions in CEE and CIS over the last 10 years  In 2011 he was awarded the Young Dealmaker of the Year prize by mergermarket.

CEE regional banking team partner Ana Radnev will continue as the deputy leader of the International PE sector group. She has wide experience in advising sponsors and lenders on acquisition, leveraged, infrastructure and hybrid finance across the CEE region, Turkey and SEE.

Grimwood says: "The UK and CEE team has a strong combination of youth, age and experience. This expertise means we can help clients looking to buy-out, sell or deal across the continent and take advantage of the current deal environment."
