Iris Capital leads EUR2m fundraising round for YouScribe

YouScribe.com has raised EUR2m from Iris Capital, plus private investors Philippe Oddo and Bruno Emsens, and from its main existing investors TDH (Thierry Dassault), Habert Dassault Finances (Benoit Habert), the Gilberte Beaux family and Clarisse (Henri & François de Maublanc).

YouScribe aims at responding to the new uses of written texts, which can be read, shared, commented upon, digitally and on all kinds of reading devices (e-books, novels, reading reports, scores, press and dissertations).

The fundraising is consistent with the favourable market conditions for online advertising, which is set to rise from EUR13.9bn in 2012 to over EUR20bn in 2015. In line with these forecasts, YouScribe aims at building up a catalogue of over several dozens of millions of documents by 2016.

Juan Pirlot de Corbion, chief executive of YouScribe, says: “We have in-depth knowledge of the ecosystem of written documents in France and in Europe. To go beyond simply increasing our catalogue, we reached a first important technological milestone; we now want to enhance the community dynamics of the platform and increase mobility. We are delighted to welcome new partners at YouScribe and to be able to count on the continuing support of our original investors.”

Sophie Dingreville, partner at Iris Capital, says: “We are very happy to join forces with YouScribe and support its growth alongside Juan Pirlot de Corbion and his team, who have been able to develop as a leading figure on the European market.”
