Options partners with Redline to deliver managed equities and options trading platform

Options is expanding its partnership with Redline Trading Solutions, a provider of low-latency market data and order execution solutions, to offer a fully managed ticker plant for options and equities.

The Options-Redline collaboration enables trading firms to access a complete and fully resilient set of exchange-traded equities, options, futures and FX market data, in addition to a full suite of broker connections, and to submit and track orders to the exchanges.

Additionally, the service is being delivered via market leading low latency infrastructure and alongside a fully redundant hosted environment with storage in NY4 and Weehawken.

The delivery of this latest trading solution is the second noteworthy collaboration between Options and Redline. In late 2010, the firms announced the deployment of the Redline InRush Accelerated Ticker Plant to the Options’ Private Financial Cloud platform. As with the InRush ticker plant, this enhanced solution is being deployed as part of the Options PIPE Velocity offering. PIPE Velocity is a low latency trading, FIX connectivity, market data and computing infrastructure.

Nigel Kneafsey, chief executive of Options, says: “This latest evolution of our partnership with Redline is particularly exciting in that it is the first fully managed ticker plant solution being made available to Options customers through our Velocity platform. From a client’s perspective, it will drastically lower the barriers to entry in a sector that demands firms build and maintain robust and highly agile platforms to cope with the ever-increasing need for higher throughput capacity and lower-latency data. The Options-Redline solution is a cost-effective means by which firms can leverage such a platform.”

“The ability to deploy an ultra-low latency market data and order execution platform in a managed environment is changing the game for trading firms by shrinking the amount of capital required to achieve a best-in-class solution,” says Mark Skalabrin, chief executive at Redline Trading Solutions. “The Options/Redline environment allows firms to focus on their trading strategies where differentiation drives profits.”
