Digitalbox secures USD1m in VC funding

Digitalbox, the performance marketing specialist, has secured USD1m in venture capital funding from a series of high net worth investors to help fund the expansion of its native advertising business, ContentClick.

With over 500 publishers and bloggers signed up to the nascent publishing network since its launch in early January 2014, the funding will be used to finance the expansion of the ContentClick service internationally, notably in territories with large scale blogging networks and niche publishers.

ContentClick offers publishers and bloggers the chance to earn extra revenue by adding a ‘free' widget to their site.

Using a sophisticated algorithm that mines ‘editorial data’, it is able to model consumer intent and serve up relevant, high quality sponsored content for readers.

Sir Robin Miller, non-executive chairman of Digitalbox, says: "Digitalbox operates in a truly exciting arena, the world of digital marketing. Our latest initiative, ContentClick, is a real first for the team. They have developed a product that enables bloggers, as well as small and big publishers alike, the ability to earn additional revenue via our intelligent content marketing widget. With over 500 clients signed up already we believe this new service to be a real milestone for the company.”

Alex Attinger, co-creator of ContentClick, adds: “ContentClick is already 400 per cent above forecast and, within two short months, our network has over 500 bloggers and publishers as well as over 25 brand advertisers. This new funding will help us grow even faster and will be particularly valuable in financing our overseas expansion.”
