Generali launches Luxembourg-based asset management company

Generali has launched a Luxembourg-based asset management company to focus on UCITS and alternative investment vehicles domiciled in Luxembourg.

Generali Investments Luxembourg will support the global business activities of Generali Investments Europe, the main asset manager of Generali Group with approximately EUR350 billion of assets under management.
 
The new company has been established through the partial demerger of a joint venture with Banca Generali.
 
Santo Borsellino, CEO of Generali Investments Europe, says: “The launch of Generali Investments Luxembourg is an important pillar of our strategy to expand our third-party business, allowing Generali Investments Europe to best serve and further develop the global distributors and wealth management platforms channels. This new hub will ensure scalability, transparency and accessibility to Generali Investments Europe’s investment expertise, to the benefit of international clients.”
 
Generali Investments Luxembourg SA will be the management company for the Luxembourg-based product range corresponding to EUR14 billion of total assets – including Generali Investments SICAV, Generali Investments Europe’s flagship cross-border fund umbrella. The company will mainly perform internally the risk management, business support, legal and compliance as well as outsourcing control services, while the portfolio management activities will predominantly be delegated to Generali Investments Europe.
 
Generali Investments Luxembourg SA will be headed by Pierre Bouchoms, who was appointed general manager. Before joining Generali he was director for global fund services at PricewaterhouseCoopers Luxembourg, co-general manager of Eurizon Capital SA and general manager at Sanpaolo Services Luxembourg.
