Edison Ventures changes name to Edison Partners

Edison Ventures has changed its name to Edison Partners in a move that it says unifies its investment strategy with the people and partnership approach behind it.

The change is effective immediately.

“This is an exciting time for our firm and we believe the name, Edison Partners, not only is representative of our evolution in recent years, but also better describes our strategy in terms of our approach with entrepreneurs and stage of company in which we invest,” says Chris Sugden, managing partner.

The firm says its new name reflects its commitment to:

1.    An investment strategy focused on early growth equity opportunities with technology companies at a later stage of development than traditional venture capital, but smaller checks and earlier stage than most growth equity firms, a differentiated approach that delivers venture returns with lower risk.

2.    Providing value-added services to its portfolio companies with the Edison Edge platform, a holistic approach to supporting the entrepreneur’s journey through strategic advisory, a world-class C-level network, and a comprehensive portfolio of executive education programmes.

3.    A new ownership and management structure – a partnership emphasising learning, innovation, empathy, relentless execution, and collaborative decision-making — under the leadership of Sugden and four general partners.
