Graphite Capital strengthens investment team

UK mid-market private equity firm Graphite Capital has strengthened its investment team with three new appointments.

Humphrey Baker has joined as an investment director from Lyceum Capital Partners, where he was involved in deal origination, appraisal and execution, as well as portfolio company management. Before that, he worked in financial services at Ernst & Young. Baker brings to Graphite particular experience of the IT services and software sectors.

Liam McGivern and Alex Mills have joined as investment managers. McGivern was previously with Pricoa Capital Group, where he worked on European mezzanine investments, and before that he was part of the restructuring and transaction services team at Deloitte. Mills arrives from KPMG, where she was a manager in the financial restructuring advisory team.

Graphite has also promoted Simon May, Colm Walsh and Andrea Fernandez to investment director.  May joined Graphite’s direct investment team in 2010, while Walsh and Fernandez both work in the fund investment team.

Rod Richards, Graphite managing partner, says: “We are delighted to welcome Humphrey, Liam and Alex to our investment team and to recognise Simon’s, Colm’s and Andrea’s contributions to the business. Graphite is well placed to capitalise on further opportunities for our eighth fund following our recent investments in City & County Healthcare and ICR.”
