International mid-market advisory firm Clearwater International has advised height safety services provider Total Access (UK) Limited on its sale to Arco Limited.

The company was the first UK company within its industry to be UKAS accredited to British Standards and is independently audited by UKAS.

Arco offers a world-class range of over 170,000 quality assured, branded and own brand products, including personal protective equipment, clothing, footwear, gloves, workplace safety and hygiene productsin both the UK and international markets. The Hull-based business, which has been family owned since 1890, has a national network of sales offices and 43 trade counters throughout the UK and employs 1,500 staff.

The acquisition of Total Access by Arco will make the company the leading supplier of Height Safety solutions and will help support the company’s ambition to grow its training and consultancy division, further strengthening Arco’s position as experts in safety. Total Access will benefit from having access to Arco’s complete range of workplace safety products and the ability to deliver life-saving training to the business’s large customer base.

A team at Clearwater International led by Rob Britton and Mark Gillingham advised the shareholders of Total Access on the sale.

Rob Britton, partner at Clearwater International, says: “As the UK’s leading independent working at height and confined space specialist, Total Access is a highly strategic acquisition for Arco.

“Total Access’s excellent reputation for technical expertise and its ability to provide specialist training for working at height will provide an excellent platform for Arco to further expand its operations within this market.”
