Morgan Creek names Forstl as MD and Head of Intermediary Distribution

Morgan Creek Capital Management has appointed Michael Forstl as a Managing Director and Head of Intermediary Distribution.  

In his new role, Forstl will lead the firm's wealth management distribution efforts as well as designing new products that leverage Morgan Creek's unique approach to investing and asset management.

Forstl brings over 25 years of experience in the sale and distribution of a wide array of investment solutions. Most recently, he consulted for financial institutions on the development, launch and distribution of new and existing products. His efforts included working with UBS, BNY Mellon, Richard Bernstein Advisors, and ETF Global.

Prior to his private consultative services, Forstl was Senior Vice President, Head of Independent and Regional Broker Dealer Distribution at ING Investment Management  where he was responsible for internal and external wholesaling, business development, subadvisory and key accounts teams in the distribution of ING's mutual funds, separate accounts, offshore funds, closed end funds, structured products, and sub advisory services.  

Prior in his career Forstl spent 20 years at Nuveen Investments in a number of leadership positions. Most recently he was responsible for the sales and distribution activity of Nuveen's Structured Products offerings, which included Nuveen's Closed-End Funds and ETNs. Forstl oversaw the Joint Venture between Nuveen and Merrill Lynch in the creation and distribution of the ELEMENTS ETN platform, an industry leading innovative product structure.

During his 25-year career in the industry, Forstl has also held positions with Security Pacific Merchant Bank, VanKampen and Dean Witter. Forstl received a BA in Economics from the University of Georgia, is a graduate of the Securities Industry Institute and holds his CIMA designation in conjunction with IMCA and the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.
