Ryan Waddington joins Arsenal Venture Partners as Partner

Arsenal Venture Partners has appointed Ryan Waddington (pictured) as a Partner. He will lead the firm’s efforts in the Midwest region and will be involved in all areas of the firm's operations, from sourcing investments to interfacing with strategic organisations, to delivering value to Arsenal's portfolio companies.

Waddington's 15-year investing career includes, most recently, co-founding Michigan-based Huron River Ventures, a seed-stage venture capital firm that invests in enterprise and resource efficiency sectors. Prior to that, Waddington helped establish an energy-focused private equity group within New York-based Ziff Brothers Investments, one of the largest and most successful family office investment firms in the country, and he led several investments there totalling more than USD100 million. Waddington began his career in venture capital working inside DTE Energy's corporate venture group. He also established and executed a seed-stage funding program at NextEnergy, where he funded several prominent Michigan-based alternative energy companies.

"Ryan has a proven track record of building valuable technology companies, and he embodies the entrepreneurial spirit of Arsenal," says John Trbovich, Managing Director of Arsenal Venture Partners. "His entrepreneurial drive, industry contacts and investing acumen will help continue AVP's strategy of being the leading venture capital firm that invests at the intersection of the Government, large corporations, and emerging technology companies."

Waddington holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, and a Master of Business Administration with Distinction from the Ross School of Business at University of Michigan, where he participated in the Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise.
