CamberView Partners has appointed Allie Monaco Rutherford as a Principal.

Rutherford brings to her new role at CamberView more than 15 years of experience researching and advising on corporate governance matters. She was most recently a Director at Ernst & Young LLP (EY), leading the firm's corporate governance initiatives in the US.

"Allie has spent most of her career supporting institutional investors in their governance efforts and she has a deep knowledge of how institutional investors think and vote their shares," says Abe Friedman, Managing Partner. "Allie has applied her extensive investor-based perspectives to her recent work at EY advising boards and senior management teams on governance matters, helping to build trust and expand dialogue between public companies and their investors."

Before joining CamberView, Ms. Rutherford helped to establish EY's Center for Board Matters. In this role, she served as a thought leader on corporate governance trends and the impact of governance decisions on investor actions and proxy voting. She was responsible for engaging boards, management and investors on governance, environmental and social issues. Prior to EY, she served as Vice President of Research for Proxy Governance, leading the proxy research business. Previously, Ms. Rutherford was Deputy Director of Governance Research at the Investor Responsibility Research Center (now Institutional Shareholder Services). She holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Science – International Studies from Michigan State University.

In 2014, Ms. Rutherford was selected to the NACD Directorship 100 list of the most influential leaders in corporate governance. She serves on the Advisory Board of the University of Delaware's Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance.

"This is an exciting time to join CamberView given the changing dynamics in the corporate governance space. Companies are more proactive in their governance agendas, while at the same time investors are becoming more engaged and influential," says Rutherford. "CamberView has been the leader in promoting alignment and helping public companies to successfully connect and build trust with their investors on governance and voting topics. The talent and investor expertise that CamberView brings to companies is unmatched and I am thrilled to join this team."
