BerchWood Partners and JTC Capital form JV

Private equity placement agent BerchWood Partners has formed a joint venture with JTP Capital, an investment advisory firm which provides capital advisory solutions for a small number of well selected real estate investment platforms.

Mitchell B. Sikora, JTP Capital’s founding member, and Henry J Delicata, a senior advisor, will be working with the BerchWood team on placement activities.

Sikora has more than 20 years of experience in the investment banking, investment and real estate professions and has been involved in raising private equity specifically for real estate funds since 1999. Just prior to founding JTP Capital in 2012, Sikora was a partner of MVision Private Equity Advisers Limited, where he was responsible for managing all aspects of its real estate private equity fundraising business including origination, distribution and deal management. Since 1999 he has led the real estate private equity capital fundraising business at platforms including Merrill Lynch, UBS and JT Partners. During his fundraising career, Sikora has raised in excess of USD16 billion of private equity capital for funds across North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia. Prior to specialising in real estate private equity fundraising, Sikora held positions at both Dillon, Read & Co and CS First Boston where he was engaged as an M&A specialist, first as a generalist and then focusing on financial institutions. Sikora received his BBA with a major in both finance and real estate from the University of Texas at Austin and holds an MBA from the Columbia Business School, where he graduated as a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society.

Delicata has more than 26 years of real estate and real asset investing experience and has served as a senior advisor to JTP Capital since 2013. Prior to this role, he resided at Park Street Capital since 2010, where he had been responsible for portfolio strategy, construction, and manager selection for its Natural Resources Fund. Delicata has also served as a managing partner for Verdis Real Assets Funds, driving the development and management of their first fund. As Assistant Treasurer for Vanderbilt University's Office of Investments, which was responsible for the university's USD3 billion endowment, he oversaw the endowment's real assets portfolio and committed over USD600 million to 59 investment funds across 33 managers. Earlier in his career at Vanderbilt, he was an Assistant Vice Chancellor for University Relations and Real Estate, establishing the university's first real estate division. Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Delicata was Assistant Director of Finance and Administration for Harvard University Office of the General Counsel. He has also held financial positions with Boston University and New England Mutual Life Insurance Company of Boston. Delicata earned a BSA in accounting from Bentley College and has an MPA in public administration from Suffolk University.

“Mitch and Henry’s experience in the real assets sector is a wonderful complement to BerchWood’s advisory and fundraising platform,” says David Berchenbriter, co-founder of BerchWood.

“Henry and I are pleased to be augmenting the fundraising platform we have already built with the infrastructure and distribution capability of BerchWood, a well-established and like-minded entity,” adds Sikora.
