Sun European Partners makes senior hires in Europe

Sun European Partners has made two senior hires in Europe.

Andreas Bösenberg has joined as Managing Director of the Frankfurt office and Michael Palm as Managing Director of Sun’s new Swedish office in Stockholm, supporting the firm’s continued expansion in the region.

Bösenberg joins from VTB Capital where he spent nearly five years as Deputy Head of Private Equity and Special Situations. Prior to this, he was Co-founder and Managing Director of Brockhaus Private Equity in Frankfurt. At Sun, Bösenberg will be overseeing Sun’s German operations and working with the team on the existing portfolio and upcoming pipeline of activity.

Palm was most recently Founding Partner and CEO at Seven Summits Capital, an investment and advisory company focused on private equity opportunities across Europe. At Sun, Palm will head up the firm’s new operations in Stockholm. He will be responsible for future acquisitions in the Nordics, providing on the ground presence and expertise in a region that has seen a notable increase in deal activity recently.

Further to this, Tim Stubbs, who joined Sun in 2011, was promoted to Senior Managing Director. He will be responsible for Sun’s operations team in Europe and the performance of Sun’s existing European portfolio.

Stubb, Bösenberg and Palm will all work alongside Michael Kalb, Senior Managing Director, who is responsible for overseeing Sun’s entire European transaction team.

Marc Leder, Co-CEO of Sun, says: “We are delighted to announce the appointments of both Andreas and Michael to our Frankfurt and Stockholm offices. They bring with them a wealth of experience and we all look forward to working closely with them to build on our presence in Europe and take advantage of the positive deal momentum in those regions at the moment.

“Additionally, we would like to congratulate Tim on his promotion to Senior Managing Director. He is a great asset to the European team and his considerable expertise will serve us well as he takes on the responsibility for our current European portfolio.”
