Cabot Square Capital makes three promotions to Partner

Financial services private equity investor Cabot Square Capital has promoted investment directors Tarun Sharma and Richard McDougall, and General Counsel Lawrence J Small to Partner.

Managing Partner, John Van Deventer, says: “Reaching the milestone of the close of our fifth fund is an appropriate point for us to reflect Cabot Square’s growing size, and the outstanding contributions made by Tarun, Richard and Larry by announcing their promotions to Partner.”
 
Sharma (pictured) originally joined Cabot Square in May 2008. Prior to joining the Firm, Sharma spent seven years with HSBC, primarily in their securitisation team. Sharma has also worked in Blackstone’s Tactical Opportunities Fund.
 
Since joining Cabot Square, Sharma has been involved in all aspects of the investment process and leads a number of Cabot Square’s investments, sitting on the boards of Blue Motor Finance, JBR Capital, and BPN Credito.  Sharma has an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (2001).

McDougall joined Cabot Square in April 2006. Prior to joining the firm, McDougall spent five years with the strategy consulting firm Burlington Consultants, and subsequently Deloitte following their acquisition of Burlington, providing commercial due diligence, transaction support, operational improvement and strategy consulting services to private equity funds and large corporations.
 
Since joining Cabot Square, McDougall has been involved in all aspects of the investment process and leads a number of Cabot Square’s investments, sitting on the boards of LDF, Henry Howard Finance, Asset Alliance and Betterstore Self Storage.  McDougall holds an MA (Oxon) from St. John’s College, Oxford and is Investment Management Certificate qualified.
 
Small joined Cabot Square in September 2004.  Small is responsible for transaction structuring and execution, regulatory advice, and portfolio company legal support.   Prior to joining the Firm, Small was employed in the London office of Clifford Chance LLP (1999-2004), where he worked in the capital markets, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisition practice.  He holds degrees from Brown University (1994), Cambridge University (1996) and from the Yale Law School (1999).
