Bond Dickinson advises Piper on investment in Forthglade Foods

Law firm Bond Dickinson has advised longstanding client and specialist consumer investor Piper on its GBP6 million investment in Forthglade Foods Limited, the Devon-based pet food company.

Piper is a specialist private equity firm focused on investments in consumer brands with strong growth potential in retail, leisure, consumer products and consumer services. Bond Dickinson has advised Piper on a wide range of investments including Weird Fish, Bottlegreen, Turtle Bay restaurants, Loungers, Orlebar Brown and Hickory's Smokehouse.

On this investment the Bond Dickinson corporate team, led by partner Simon Hewes (pictured) and solicitor Sammy Hill, worked closely with its regulatory team.

Hewes says: "We are really seeing the benefit of having worked closely with Piper on its investments for a number of years. Their approach is genuinely different and collaborative, which is a real benefit to investee companies and their management teams, and we are very happy to be working innovatively with them."

Bond Dickinson's team of corporate finance and banking lawyers advises private equity firms, investee companies, management teams and debt providers on private equity transactions, including growth and development capital, as well as management buyouts.

Clarke Willmott advised the shareholders and management team.
