Duane Morris has assisted European private capital group Metric Capital Partners (MCP) in its second investment in Spain, with the wine and foods company The Haciendas Company as it made three divestments.
The Duane Morris team was led by partner Piero Carbone and included corporate partner Ray Smyth, tax partner Jenny Wheater, and senior corporate associate Linda Zeman, all in the firm’s London office.
Metric has made a hybrid equity credit investment in the company, which owns some of the oldest wineries in Rioja Alta and a collection of wine estate in the Duero valley as well as the Hacienda Zorita Wine Hotel and spa. Following the deal, Giovannie Miele, a partner, and Bjorn Tessiore, a principal at Metric, will join the company’s board of directors.
