Lovell Minnick Partners beefs up team with three new hires

Private equity firm Lovell Minnick Partners has made several new additions to its team, hiring Benjamin Kaplan and Steven Korff as vice president and associate respectively in Los Angeles while Greg Dutov is joining the Philadelphia office as an associate.

Messrs Kaplan, Korff and Dutov will support Lovell Minnick’s due diligence, financial modelling, research and proprietary origination activities. The firm is investing from its USD750 million Lovell Minnick Equity Partners IV fund that closed in October 2015.
 
Prior to joining Lovell Minnick, Kaplan made private investments at the family office of a founding partner of a private equity fund. He also worked at several private equity firms including Riordan, Lewis & Hayden Equity Partners while earning his MBA and JD degrees from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management and School of Law, respectively. Ben serves as the Chair of the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law Alumni Club of Los Angeles. Previously, Kaplan was an Associate with Century Capital Management and a Senior Analyst at Raymond James & Associates. He received his BS in Economics and Finance, Magna Cum Laude, from Boston College.
 
Korff served as an Investment Banking Analyst at Citigroup Global Markets in San Francisco before joining Lovell Minnick. He previously served in a similar role at Wells Fargo Securities in the Financial Services and Technology, Media and Telecom Group. Korff earned his BS in International Business and his MBA with a finance concentration from Pepperdine University.
 
Dutov joins Lovell Minnick from the New York office of RBC Capital Markets, where he was an Investment Banking Analyst in its Financial Institutions Group. Prior to RBC, Dutov was an Analyst with Bank of America Merrill Lynch specializing in Financial Institutions Credit Risk. He received his BBA with a major in Finance and minors in Corporate Communication and Psychology, Magna Cum Laude, from Baruch College’s Honors Program.
