Aurelius makes third appointment of 2016

Aurelius Group has made its third hire of 2016 with the appointment of Ed Akenhead as Operational Manager.

Akenhead, who joins as part of Aurelius’ UK operational team with immediate effect, will be placed at Allied Healthcare, the UK market-leading domiciliary care business acquired from Saga plc in December 2015.

Akenhead joins Aurelius from AT Kearney, where he worked as Manager (2010-2015). In this role he was responsible for the sale, scoping, and delivery of strategic and operational improvement projects, with particular specialisms in the private equity, FMCG, oil & gas, and TMT sectors. Alongside his five years of experience in top-tier strategy consulting, Ed has three years of supply chain experience, having worked as a Supply Chain Development Manager at de Gournay between 2007 and 2009.

Akenhead received an MBA in Business from Cranfield School of Management in 2010. Prior to his move into strategic consultancy and operational management, he worked as a Commercial Litigation Paralegal at CMS Cameron McKenna LLP (2006-2007) after obtaining a BA in Law from the University of Nottingham.

The appointment is the third hire to Aurelius’ UK team this year, following those of Daniel Simon as Investment Associate and Ben Paice as Operational Manager, and highlights the continued expansion of the UK team in support of the Group’s increasing activity in this market.

Tristan Nagler, Managing Director of Aurelius in the UK, says: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ed Akenhead as Operational Manager. This addition to our operational taskforce marks the third appointment to the UK team in 2016 already, reflecting the need for Aurelius to keep identifying and hiring the best investment and operational restructuring talent to support its increasing levels of activity in the UK, as well as its growing portfolio of investments in this market.”
