Riverside promotes European principal

The Riverside Company has promoted Patrick Schaich to Principal, Origination. Schaich leads origination efforts for the firm in the DACH region.

Schaich joined Riverside in 2013 and works out of the Munich office. Prior to joining Riverside, he was Vice President, Investment Banking at Berenberg Bank. Prior to that, he served as Associate, Investment Banking at Kepler Cheuvreux and Consultant, Transaction Advisory Services at Ernst & Young.

“Patrick has delivered a number of superb opportunities for Riverside,” says Lars Eriksson, Managing Director and Head of European Origination. “He’s been a tremendous asset as we strive to find the best deals in a very competitive landscape.”

Riverside’s 20+ member global Origination team sourced nearly 5,000 deals in a busy 2015, as the firm closed on 44 transactions.

The “DACH-Mittelstand” is a key focus area for both Riverside and its origination team. The firm has so far made 10 DACH platform investments of which three are in its current portfolio. Additionally, Riverside recently added Locatec, a leak-detection franchise business that operates in Germany and Austria, to its Dwyer Group platform.
