Berenberg launched its US presence in Boston in 2011 to offer high quality research-based Pan-European equity products to US Institutional investors. Since commencing operations in the US, Berenberg has strengthened its team, by opening new offices in New York (2012), Chicago (2014) and San Francisco (2014). The bank also hired Dr Mickey Levy in 2015 as Chief US and Asia Economist, with over 30 years of experience, including 15 years as Chief Economist at Bank of America.

The German bank, which celebrated its 425th anniversary in 2015, offers a range of services in capital markets and asset management to institutional clients throughout the world, and has received strong recognition for the bank’s extensive research coverage from over 90 analysts covering more than 500 European and US stocks in over 31 sectors.

Hendrik Riehmer, Managing Partner at Berenberg, says: “This is an exciting time for Berenberg, as the Bank seeks to continue expanding its US offering. James Ramp has extensive experience in Investment Banking and ECM activities. His wealth of knowledge and track record of growing teams will play a fundamental part in further strengthening Berenberg’s positioning in the US.”

“I am very much looking forward to working at BCM in New York”, commented James Ramp. “Building on Berenberg’s exceptional heritage, I am very excited about the continued growth opportunities for the bank across the US.”
