Proskauer adds private investments lawyer Monica Arora

International law firm Proskauer has appointed Monica Arora as a partner in the firm’s private investment funds group in New York.

Arora advises fund managers across the full asset class on fund structuring and management company arrangements, including private equity, real estate, infrastructure and debt. She also advises on both primary and secondary portfolio transactions.

“We are very excited to have Monica join our team. Her extensive experience working with sponsors and investors both in the US and internationally will be of great value to our clients as they navigate current market changes,” says Howard Beber, co-head of the private investment funds group.

“Monica’s experience and expertise in the real estate and infrastructure space is extremely complementary to our private equity real estate practice and her arrival adds further depth to our platform,” says Chip Parsons, head of the private equity real estate funds practice.

Proskauer has one of the largest private investment fund practices globally and in the past 12 months alone has advised sponsors in closing more than 100 funds with over USD26 billion in committed capital.

In 2016, the firm has advised asset managers such as Ares Management on its USD7.85 billion Ares Corporate Opportunities Fund V and EUR2.5 billion Ares Capital Europe III; General Catalyst on closing its eighth fund with more than USD800 million in commitments; and Ardian on more than 20 secondary transactions totalling over USD5 billion.

Arora joins Proskauer from White & Case.
