Goodwin adds finance team in Paris

Arnaud Fromion and Frédéric Guilloux are joining Goodwin’s private equity practice in Paris as partners in mid-October, together with counsel Adrien Paturaud and several associates.

The group comes to Goodwin from Shearman & Sterling.

The team specialises in acquisition finance and corporate finance, acting for both lenders and borrowers, and private equity sponsors. They have represented numerous financial institutions, banks, private debt funds and borrowers on a broad range of leveraged finance transactions, including unirate bond financings. The team also acts for lenders and borrowers on large corporate, “crossover” and telecom financings.

“We are delighted that Arnaud and Frédéric, together with Adrien, are joining Goodwin in Paris,” says Maxence Bloch, chair of Goodwin Paris. “Their talent and market-leading expertise, acting for both lenders and sponsors, adds further depth to our team and momentum in building out the firm’s private equity and M&A practices in Europe.”

“Arnaud, Frédéric and Adrien are a well-established finance team with deep experience of handling sophisticated financing structures and strategies across a range of industries,” says John LeClaire, co-founder of Goodwin’s private equity practice. “As we continue to expand our private equity footprint in Europe, we are excited to add this accomplished trio to the seasoned team we have in place in Paris. Their practice will be a tremendous complement to our robust offering for private equity clients and their portfolio companies.”

Goodwin’s Paris office opened in July 2016 with the appointment of partners Maxence Bloch, Christophe Digoy, Jérôme Jouhanneaud, Thomas Maitrejean, William Robert and Pierre-Louis Sévegrand, and a group of counsel and associates. The team specialises in M&A, leveraged buyouts, private equity and public-to-private transactions for French and foreign private equity funds.

Goodwin’s private equity practice is focused primarily in the middle market. The firm’s deep market knowledge and industry relationships help its clients secure deals and build equity value across a broad range of sectors, including technology, healthcare, and financial and consumer services.
