Mourant Ozannes appoints global CFO

International law firm Mourant Ozannes has appointed Frans Post as global chief financial officer.

Post (pictured), who will also sit on Mourant Ozannes’ management committee, brings with him a wealth of finance and strategic experience in the legal sector.

He held CFO roles at onshore Magic Circle firm Clifford Chance for 17 years before joining Olswang as a CFO and board director in 2009. He then moved to manage aviation law firm Gates & Partners as chief operating officer through a merger with Kennedys law. Latterly he was CEO for investigations firm GPW Group where he was focused on delivering a business transformation strategy.

Mourant Ozannes global managing partner Jonathan Rigby says: "Frans has a deep understanding of the legal services market gained through board level appointments at some of the world's leading international law firms. His knowledge and experience will be invaluable to us as we develop our medium to long term funding strategy and transform our global finance function."

Chief operating officer Keith Pearse adds: "Building a market leading capability in business services is a core component of the firm's overall strategy, and one that we believe will differentiate us from our competitors. Frans' appointment as CFO represents a very important milestone in this process. His international experience and deep expertise will be hugely valuable and I am really excited about him joining the firm."

Post adds: "Mourant Ozannes is ambitious and focused on driving its business to the next level. It is creating competitive advantage as a result of its strategy. The culture in the firm is very collegiate and professional, with a clear vision. I am very excited to join at this time of significant change."

Post will be based in Mourant Ozannes Jersey office and has responsibility for a finance team spanning the firm's offices in BVI, the Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Jersey and London.
