BGF expands Manchester-based team

BGF (Business Growth Fund) has expanded its Manchester-based team with two appointments.

Paul Dolyniuk joins as an investor after 10 years at KPMG while Daniel Beckett, who joins from Bureau van Dijk, will focus on business development across the North West, Yorkshire and North East.

Most recently, Dolyniuk worked on a number of transactions in KPMG’s corporate finance team, including advising the board of BDP Holdings on the sale of the business to Nippon Koei.

Beckett has nine years’ experience in business development, including seven years spent at Bureau van Dijk Electronic Publishing where he focused on corporate new business and managed a growing business development team.

The appointments follow a record 12 months for BGF’s Manchester-based team of investors, who are on course to invest GBP75 million this year. New investments throughout this period include Grace Cole, RMS International, Sofology, High Access and Kids Planet. Additional funding was also provided to Barburrito, Better Bathrooms and TD4, owners of Boost Juice Bars UK and The Shake Lab. These businesses have all at least doubled turnover since taking initial investment from BGF.

Andy Gregory, BGF’s regional director in the North of England, says: “We are delighted to welcome both Dan and Paul to the team as we continue to strengthen our presence in the region. This has been a record 12 months, with activity covering new investments and further funding into existing investee businesses. We continue to be encouraged by the growing demand for BGF funding among quality businesses in the Northern regions.”
