Altitude Partners appoints partner to head fundraising and deal origination

Private equity firm Altitude Partners has appointed Andrew Syvret from Santander Corporate Bank as partner in charge of fundraising and deal origination.

Syvret has undertaken senior commercial roles in professional services, banking and the private sector for almost 20 years.

Following positions at both KPMG and PwC in accountancy and corporate finance, Syvret was recruited by the Royal Bank of Scotland in 2007 to establish and lead a corporate business origination team. A period in the private sector followed as head of the business development team for the Earl of March at The Goodwood Estate securing global sponsors and establishing the strategy for the fledgling sales team for the Festival of Speed, Revival and Glorious Goodwood.

Syvret subsequently moved back into the financial sector with Santander Corporate Bank where he was divisional head of business development recruiting the origination team and sitting on the corporate banking board for the Thames Valley and South West division.

Syvret’s recruitment to Altitude Partners will mark a new stage in its development, fundraising for Altitude Two. The second fundraising will formally commence later this year, and will offer investors an opportunity to invest in a regionally focused SME private equity fund.

Altitude remains committed to an investment focus that supports growth businesses based in the South of England, requiring between GBP1 million and GBP4 million for acquisition, growth, buyout or development capital. This follows on from the launch of Altitude One LP in 2011 which includes the successful exit from The Care Division and the recent Moortec investment.

Syvret, says: “Altitude under Simon and Jonathan has developed an approach to private equity investment in the South that is close to my heart. It is focused, nimble and one that has an investment intimacy that supports business growth in a region that all three of us know well.”

Jonathan Simm, partner at Altitude, says: “Andrew has joined us at an exciting time in our development. Our investment and relationship model is well proven and our regional business knowledge and location has played a significant role in ensuring we are a trusted regional partner.”

Simon White, partner at Altitude, says: “Andrew has a significant network in the region which will increase the effectiveness and reach of our fundraising and origination efforts. The next couple of years will be very exciting for our business and the regional businesses we support.”

Altitude’s second fund, Altitude Two, will open for new investors early in 2017.
