HarbourVest Partners expands senior team

HarbourVest Partners has appointed Tricia M Mackechnie as Chief Technology Officer and Managing Director. 

In this new role, Mackechnie will be responsible for leading the firm’s Information Technology team globally, including IT infrastructure, application development, quality assurance and cybersecurity functions.
 
“Technology and cybersecurity are playing an ever-increasing role in the execution of our global business strategy, and the addition of Tricia to our senior team will allow us to continue enhancing our efforts to support the entire investment process and better serve our clients,” says John Toomey, Managing Director. “The complexity of our global technology infrastructure matches that of the deals we execute for our clients. Tricia’s background, expertise and knowledge of complex, enterprise-scale technology systems will serve the firm well as we continue to expand our solutions offerings.”
 
Mackechnie, who brings more than 25 years of technology experience to her new role, is a proven enterprise technology leader with deep expertise in supporting global businesses with sophisticated IT infrastructures.
 
“Technology is a critical enabler for today’s business, and throughout my career I’ve focused on how to leverage technology in new ways to best support clients’ needs and business objectives,” says  Mackechnie. “I’m excited for the opportunity to play a key role in shaping HarbourVest’s technology portfolio, which will include managing and enhancing our growing, complex global infrastructure.”
 
Prior to joining HarbourVest, Mackechnie most recently served as Senior Vice President and CIO for The Hartford, where she provided leadership for an operations and IT workforce and crafted IT solutions to achieve higher levels of speed and scale. Previously, she held various senior level technology, operations, consulting, and project management positions at The Hartford, ING and Accenture. Mackechnie received her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Northeastern University.
