Pacific View Asset Management hires VC team

Joan Schriger and Brian O’Keefe, founders of Pharus Capital Management, a San Francisco-based private fund manager, have joined Pacific View Asset Management.

Schriger and O’Keefe bring with them a portfolio of venture capital investments and a track record dating back to 2013.

Throughout their careers, they have been active in all aspects of venture capital from principal investing to providing advice on financing, corporate transactions, operations and capital raises.

Their experience led them to develop a strategy that identifies late-stage investment opportunities in privately held technology companies backed by top-tier venture capital sponsors.

“We are very excited to have Joan and Brian join our organisation. Their individual experiences as investors in venture capital financed businesses and their history as a team is unique,” says Brendan Contant, president of Pacific View Asset Management. “They have developed a more risk adverse approach to this asset class, which focuses on businesses that are further along in their private market life cycle. It is hoped these later-stage investments can provide attractive returns for investors with a lower incidence of disappointments. Joan and Brian are representative of the types of investment professionals we are looking to bring to Pacific View.”

Schriger adds: “Joining Pacific View is a terrific opportunity for us. Pacific View is an emerging firm committed to best-in-class investment offerings, client services and institutional quality administrative resources. Brian and I would not have been able to build out this level of infrastructure and also devote the time necessary to finding the best risk/reward opportunities for our investors.”

O’Keefe says: “Combining with Pacific View was an attractive opportunity. It allows us to work with a group of experienced professionals who can manage all aspects of our business, affords us the time to study newly minted companies, understand their industry dynamics and implement our investment strategy.”
