Inflexion invests in K2 Partnering Solutions

Funds advised by Inflexion have completed a minority investment in K2 Partnering Solutions.

A global resourcing specialist, K2 provides outsourced IT consultants to multinational corporations including technology firms in Silicon Valley.

K2 was founded almost 20 years ago by James McHugh. The business’s consultants implement and upgrade SAP and Salesforce software, as well as other emerging technologies such as cyber security, big data and advanced analytics. K2 uses its proprietary database of over 600,000 enterprise software consultants to support client projects across four continents.

Inflexion’s partnership capital solution was attractive to the founder shareholder and his management team who collectively wanted to retain a majority stake. The investment will help expand the sales team, further broaden geographic reach and continue diversification into emerging technology segments. In addition, Inflexion will use its senior talent network to support K2 in sourcing a highly regarded chairman.

David Whileman, head of partnership capital at Inflexion, says: “Our partnership capital investment in K2 represents our fourth investment in as many months. Inflexion has known K2 for nearly 10 years; we are thrilled to have met the team’s investment ambitions with our tailored minority solution. K2 is a multinational business of scale, strong in the markets that mirror Inflexion’s local presence in Brazil and China. Capitalising on our track record in the recruitment and technology sectors, we look forward to helping K2 accelerate its growth.”

Antonio Gulino, chief executive officer at K2, says: “Since inception, K2 has enjoyed two decades of innovative growth as demand for highly qualified and specialised IT consultants continues to outstrip supply. We are excited to partner with Inflexion, an investor who understands our values, ambitions and brings valuable experience to our team, as we embark on the next phase of our journey.”

The Inflexion deal team comprised of Andrew Mainwaring, Josh Kaufman and Fabrizia Rizzi; Mainwaring and Kaufman will join the board on completion.
