Hospitality tech platform Tenzo raises GBP600,000 seed investment

Tenzo, a data-driven hospitality tech platform, has closed a seed investment of GBP600,000 led by Acequia Capital, Force Over Mass and angel investors Charlie Songhurst, Michael Orland and Getti Restaurants.

The financing will be used to fund Tenzo’s continued international expansion, new hires and for further investment in its proprietary technology platform.

“Tenzo has developed a leadership position in the market for hospitality technology through delivering actionable business insights from existing data sources,” says a representative at Acequia Capital. “Christian and Adam have the perfect combination of technical and operational experience to build a scalable and defensible platform that helps businesses optimise through data. Tenzo is a great example of the type of founder-led, capital-efficient business that we like to invest in."

"We're excited to have investors on board who will provide us not only with capital, but also vast strategic experience in our market," says Christian Mouysset, co-founder. "With their deep knowledge in both the hospitality and technology space, we know everyone involved in our seed round will be a great asset to us, as we continue to scale our business globally."

Tenzo helps restaurants save money by analysing its data to deliver tactical insights for managers to action in real time. The brainchild of Mouysset, co-founder of Hummus Bros, and Adam Taylor, who led McKinsey’s fast growth tech work on the US west coast, Tenzo helps restaurant managers identify their most productive member of staff, get more accurate business forecasting and get a better understanding of the most and least popular dishes. Each insight helps restaurants to run more effectively and, ultimately, more profitably.

Current customers include Getti Restaurants, Upham Group, Macellaio RC and Chillango.

Since launching in 2016, Tenzo has worked with restaurants across 100 locations in the UK and US.

Andrea Fraquelli, co-owner of Getti Restaurants, says: “We can now react faster than ever before by using the data now available to us. Tenzo has created value in a very short timeframe.”
