Dentons appoints tax partner in Italy

Dentons has appointed Giulio Andreani as a partner in the law firm’s tax practice in Italy. 

 
He joins along with a team of five, including senior counsel Giuseppe Ferrara, senior associates Irene Avanzini, Giacomo D’Angelo and associates Erika Andreani and Valeria Andreani.
 
They will be based in Dentons’ Milan office.
 
In 2016, Andreani was named “Tax Litigation Lawyer of the Year” at both the TopLegal Awards and Legalcommunity Tax Awards. He is also recommended by Chambers & Partners as one of the leading tax lawyers in Italy. 
 
Andreani is renowned for his experience in tax litigation, M&A tax structuring in as well as in tax issues related to restructuring and insolvency. He has advised clients such as Biancamano Group’s Aimeri Ambiente on some of the most important tax transactions on the Italian market. He has also represented clients on complex, high-value litigation cases, such as Alitalia in Extraordinary Administration versus the Tax Authorities. More recently, he advised on the tax structuring of the sale of the famous Winery Biondi Santi to French investors.
 
In addition to his career as a lawyer, Andreani is also well known in academic circles. He is the director of the Master’s Degree Program in Tax Law at LUISS University and director of the Finance and Economy High School of Rome. He is also a professor at La Sapienza University and Scuola Superiore dell’Economia e delle Finanze (School of Italian Tax Officers) in Rome.

With the addition of Andreani and his team, Dentons’ tax practice in Milan and Rome has grown to 14 professionals, including four partners.
