Investec adds to corporate lending team

Specialist lender Investec’s Growth & Acquisition Finance (GAF) team has made a senior hire to support its ambitions in the UK mid-market.

James Goût joins from Barclays to continue the expansion of the GAF business, which provides funding for entrepreneurs, management teams and private equity houses in the UK mid-market.

Known for its flexibility in structuring across the entire capital structure, offering revolving asset-based facilities, senior cash flow lending, mezzanine finance and minority equity, GAF places a strong emphasis on its partnerships and commercial approach to supporting growing businesses.

Goût joins from Barclays, where he has significant experience across the corporate life cycle having worked in mid-market financial sponsor origination team, mezzanine finance, and more recently in restructuring, as a Director in the bank’s Special Asset Management.

James Stirling, co-head of GAF at Investec, says the addition of James will bring a wealth of experience to the team, and reflects the firm’s ambitions in the UK market.

“We are investing in the team to support our growth,” says Stirling. “We are particularly focused on expanding our franchise within the owner-managed and private capital investment space, and James’ network and complementary skill-set will help us achieve our strategic ambitions.

“James’ varied experience across corporate finance, covering both corporate and sponsor clients in highly strategic deals, is exactly the kind of expertise our clients expect from us. His strong standing in the market will help us reach clients who are yet to experience our unique way of supporting entrepreneurs, management teams and their backers.  We are delighted he has decided to join and add to our talented team.”
