Smith joined CD&R in 2011 as a senior member of the Firm’s investor relations and fundraising team to develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective investors. During his tenure, he has been actively involved in multiple Firm fundraising and co-investment processes, as well as working cross-functionally with internal teams on fund and portfolio company reporting matters.
Prior to joining CD&R, Smith served as a managing director at Lehman Brothers and a partner at New York Life Capital Partners (now known as Goldpoint Partners). He started his career in investment banking. He holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BS from the University of Maryland.
