New COO and Head of Client Experience appointed at Palico

Palico, the private equity industry’s leading fundraising and secondaries digital platform, has promoted Claire Woolston Commons as its new Chief Operating Officer. In her new role as COO, Commons will build on her track record, spearheading the company’s commercial platform operations. Since joining the firm as Head of Strategy, a role she will continue to hold, she has been instrumental in forging partnerships with institutions and key stakeholders, and ultimately accelerating growth.

“I am very proud of this announcement,” says Palico CEO Julien Gervaz. “Taking an entire industry to the digital age requires experts of all kinds, and as a veteran of Private Equity, Claire brings incredible talent, experience, and leadership. Since day one Claire has been a trusted partner and indispensable second in command here at Palico. I am thrilled to be tackling new challenges with her.”

Commons spent 20 years managing private assets portfolios and advising endowments, families and other institutions. She started her career at Cambridge Associates, followed by positions at the Williams College Endowment, New England Pensions Consultants (NEPC), Wilshire Private Markets, and Brown Advisory. She received a BA from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

This experience and tacit understanding of the LP community has equipped Commons with the expertise, knowledge and insights that have helped position Palico as the leading private equity institutional platform and enhance its growth.

Palico has also promoted Lucas Lin to the position of Head of Client Experience. In this newly created role Lin will ensure that GPs maximise their performance, fund visibility and LP engagement, working directly with Claire Commons. His prior experience in asset management will serve Lin well as he embraces his new role and furthers the development of Palico’s primary fundraising platform, partnering with global IR teams. Lin started his career at JP Morgan and continued at PIMCO. He received a BA from Berkeley University and an MBA from INSEAD. “I would like to personally thank Claire and Lucas for their outstanding contributions to Palico’s growth and development.” adds Gervaz. “What we do here at Palico is big and ambitious. Top talent is a rare commodity, and when a team clicks, anything is achievable. I am extremely excited about our future.”
