Akin Gump advises Africa Capitalworks on Dorman Long Engineering investment

Africa Capitalworks has made a significant equity investment in Dorman Long Engineering (DLE), an international engineering company operating across the oil and gas, telecoms and energy industries, offering high-value engineering services, fabrication, asset management and galvanising services.

A team from Akin Gump advised Africa Capitalworks on the transaction.

The investment will allow DLE, an indigenous and market-leading company headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, to develop its existing fabrication yards and service offerings as well as support its expansion throughout Africa. DLE has successfully executed major engineering services works, including onshore flow stations and major structural fabrication and erection, amongst others, for almost all oil majors, energy services companies and multinationals operating in Nigeria.

Africa Capitalworks is a sub-Saharan Africa-focused private equity fund and part of the Capitalworks Group, a leading independent alternative asset manager with a focus on emerging markets.

The Akin Gump team was led by corporate partner Weyinmi Popo, with support from associate George Burt and finance counsel Nicholas Pascal.
