Carlyle appoints head of global portfolio solutions

Global investment firm Carlyle has appointed Richard Elder, former chief transformation officer and EVP, strategy & growth at Carlyle-backed Nouryon, to the newly-expanded role of head of global portfolio solutions (GPS).

Global Portfolio Solutions, formerly Global Investment Resources (GIR), provides insight and support to Carlyle’s investment process and portfolio value improvement efforts. The global team is comprised of functional experts across digital, talent, procurement, IT and other disciplines.  
 
As head of global portfolio solutions, Elder will oversee GPS’ value creation efforts that encompass the combination of innovative domain thought leadership, a network of more than 50 operating executives and advisors, a partnership methodology based on collaboration, and a world-class partner ecosystem underpinned by Carlyle’s global scale and reach. Elder will join Carlyle on 11 July, 2022, reporting to Pete Clare, chief investment officer for Private Equity and chairman of Americas Private Equity.
