E-grocery startup Waysia raises €10m in Series A round led by Banyan Pacific Capital

Waysia – formerly known as Alorsfaim – an e-grocery startup based in Paris and focused on Asian food, has raised €10 million in a Series A fundraising round led by Banyan Pacific Capital, a North American VC fund.

Current shareholders iFly.vc, Cathay Innovation and Goodwater Capital also participated in the round along with new investor  Dastore, the dedicated digital retail fund run by Daphni, supported by Carrefour, and Convivialité Ventures, the VC arm of Pernod Ricard, takes part in the round as well.

Waysia (formerly known as Alorsfaim) started its activity in 2018 as an authentic Asian food delivery business before launching its online grocery service in early 2020. The company’s significant and rapid growth has enabled it to secure its first fundraising in the third quarter of 2021 and to expand its e-grocery business.

The fundraising will allow the company to increase its presence in key European cities – especially in Germany and the UK –, expand its technological capabilities and strengthen its supply chain to consolidate its leading position in Asian e-grocery in Europe. In order to support this growth phase, the company also intends to strengthen its team, opening positions in IT development, product, purchasing, supply chain and marketing.
