A group of private equity firms led by Hellman & Friedman and Permira have completed their $10.2 billion deal to take software company Zendesk private following a long campaign from activist investor Jana Partners, according to a report by Reuters.

Zendesk shareholders received $77.50 per share in cash as part of the deal, which was backed by proxy advisory firm Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) and approved by Zendesk shareholders in September.

Jana began pushing for a sale of the San Francisco-based business after a proposed $3.9 billion deal for Zendesk to acquire SurveyMonkey parent Momentive Global Inc collapsed after being rejected by Zendesk shareholders.
