Fircroft appoints non-executive director

Fircroft Engineering Services, a provider of technical recruitment services backed by Equistone Partners Europe, has strengthened its board with the appointment of Philip Gore-Randall as a non-executive director.

Gore-Randall (pictured) brings almost 40 years of international experience to the board. He started his career at professional services firm Andersen, working his way up to UK managing partner, before becoming global chief operating officer at Andersen Worldwide in 2001.

He has previously held positions at the UK arm of insurance broker Aon, leading a major restructuring of the business, and recently took on the roles of senior adviser to Middle Eastern oil and gas services business Renaissance Services SAOG and to Alvarez and Marsal, the global professional services firm.

Gore-Randall was chairman of Environmental Resources Management (ERM) from 2010 to 2011 when it was backed by private equity, and he served as chief operating officer on the board of HBOS from 2007 to 2009 managing its integration into Lloyds Banking Group.

In June 2012, Equistone supported the GBP140m MBO of Warrington-based Fircroft Engineering Services.

Gore-Randall says: “It gives me great pleasure to be joining the board of Fircroft. The company provides highly specialised services to some of the world’s largest companies operating in the oil and gas, automotive, mining and energy sectors. I look forward to working closely with the management team, helping them to continually improve services to clients, whilst expanding our international footprint even further.”

Steve O’Hare, head of Equistone Partners in the North, says: “Fircroft continues to experience strong growth, and is a world leader in technical recruitment services market. Philip will bring additional experience and expertise to the boardroom at a very exciting time for the business.”
