DN Capital appoints two venture partners

DN Capital, an early stage and growth capital investor in the digital media, e-commerce, software and mobile industries in Europe and North America, has appointed Simon Greenman as venture partner UK and John Helm as venture partner in Germany.

In addition, Jonathan Pell and Jaclyn Schnau join the industry advisory board.

Greenman and Helm will expand the DN Capital team to identify new investment opportunities and support current and future portfolio companies with strategic and operational advisory, building on DN Capital’s proven track record of establishing and exiting European industry leaders in its Global Venture Capital (GVC) I and GVC II funds.  DN Capital’s active management approach is further strengthened through its committed industry advisory board, composed of significant European entrepreneurs.

Greenman has more than 20 years of operational experience in international digital media, online, and technology businesses. He was co-founder of MapQuest.com (sold to AOL) and has held various senior management roles responsible for online at European Directories and Dex Media.

Helm is a serial entrepreneur in the e-commerce and internet space. He has founded and successfully exited two e-commerce start-ups; MyNewPlace and AllAppartments. Helm is currently on the board of Dotloop, a venture backed real estate technology company in the US. He is also an active angle investor, co-investing alongside venture firms.

Jonathan Pell was formerly chief executive of Datanomic (a DN portfolio company), where he led the rapid growth and the exit to Oracle in 2011. Prior to Datanomic he was senior finance director, EMEA, APAC and LATAM at Convergys Corporate and finance director at Geneva Technology.

Schnau is currently managing director of Windelbar.de and chief compliance officer at Windeln.de (a DN portfolio company). She is specialised in consumer-centric brand strategies and experience development, in which she led initiatives in her prior roles at Pizza Hut and Haagen Dazs.

Nenad Marovac, managing partner at DN capital, says: “Our success to date has been based on our deep network with leading entrepreneurs and  our ability to identify the most promising business ideas in our chosen industries of digital media, e-commerce, software and mobile to accelerate our portfolio companies’ development and growth internationally.  I am delighted that Simon and John have joined to further strengthen our team and drive our proven and continued commitment to European investments and the successes it can deliver for our venture funds.”
