Polaris makes four promotions

Polaris Private Equity, a Danish/Swedish mid-market private equity investor, has made four promotions.

Peter Maigaard, Rune Gornitzka and Martin Bang-Löwgren (pictured) have all been promoted to director, while Simon Wille has been promoted to investment manager.

The promotions mark the end of a year during which Polaris has made five new platform investments and a further seven add-on deals, as well as securing the successful exits of Skamol and Fiskarhedenvillan.

Jan Johan Kühl, managing partner at Polaris, says: “These promotions are part of Polaris’ continuing development as a leading Danish/Swedish mid-market private equity investor, and reflect the increasing seniority and experience in our team. Each of the four individuals have demonstrated strong performance and enormous commitment during their time at Polaris and I am delighted that they will continue to play a key role in our firm’s ongoing success over the coming years.”

Maigaard has been a member of the Polaris team since 2000, joining from Tarconord. Gornitzka joined Polaris in 2005 following spells at Capitellum Corporate Finance and Denmark’s largest telecoms company, TDC. Bang-Löwgren has been at the firm since 2009, and previously worked at the Boston Consulting Group and Coloplast. Simon Wille was with AP Møller Mærsk before joining Polaris in 2010.
