Akin Gump promotes 11 to partnership

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld has promoted 11 attorneys to the partnership, effective 1 January.



The new partners are:

Carlos M Bermudez, partner, in the firm’s corporate practice in Los Angeles. Bermudez represents a diverse array of clients, including publicly and privately held companies and private equity funds, in acquisitions, mergers, corporate finance, securities and general corporate matters. In 2012, Bermudez was named by M&A Advisor as one of the top 40 Under 40 M&A Advisors on the West Coast.

Stacey R Eisenstein is in the firm’s labour and employment practice in Washington, DC. Eisenstein works with employers in all aspects of labour and employment law, with an emphasis on arbitration and complex matters before federal courts and administrative agencies.

Tony D Feuerstein is in the firm’s corporate practice in New York. Feuerstein focuses on representing both strategic clients and financial sponsors in a broad range of public and private merger and acquisition transactions, including both negotiated and unsolicited transactions, tender and exchange offers, mergers, leveraged buyouts, stock and asset purchases, divestitures and cross-border transactions.

Bernd G Janzen is in the firm’s international trade practice in Washington, DC, where he advises US and foreign clients across a broad range of trade litigation proceedings, including antidumping, countervailing duty, and trade preference proceedings. Janzen also advises clients on matters before US Customs and Border Protection, compliance with US export control laws administered by the US departments of Commerce and State and various trade policy matters before the Office of the US Trade Representative and other federal government entities.

Amanda R Johnson is in the firm’s IP practice in Washington, D.C. Johnson’s practice focuses on complex litigation, with an emphasis on patent infringement disputes and damages analyses. Her practice covers a wide array of technologies, including electronics, telecommunications, computer software and agricultural chemicals.

Frederick T Lee is in the firm’s corporate practice in New York. Lee focuses his practice on private equity-related corporate finance transactions, including acquisition and distressed financing.

Barbara Niederkofler is in the firm’s investment funds practice in New York and London. Niederkofler is principally engaged in the representation of private investment funds and their sponsors and focuses on the formation and operation of fund complexes. Her practice extends to both hedge and private equity funds.

Raphael Prober is in the firm’s public law and policy practice in Washington, DC. Prober’s practice focuses on representing companies and individuals in all aspects of Congressional investigations, as well as in connection with investigations by various executive branch departments, commissions and agencies.

Gabriel J Procaccini is a member of the firm’s energy and global transactions practice in Houston. Procaccini is principally engaged in representing domestic and international oil and gas companies in transactions involving all phases of the energy business, including exploration and production activities, midstream ventures, infrastructure projects and financing matters.

Michelle Reed is in the firm’s litigation practice in Dallas. Reed’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation matters, with an emphasis on representing public companies and their officers and directors in securities litigation, internal investigations, and regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings.

Joshua R Williams is in the firm’s tax practice in New York. Williams advises on a broad range of US and international tax matters, with a focus on the formation and operation of domestic and offshore private investment funds and on the tax aspects of project finance and renewable energy transactions.
