U-Boat Worx forms partnership with Exa Limited

U-Boat Worx has partnered with Exa Limited, a company owned by entrepreneur Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay who spearheads the Asian conglomerate Genting Group.

The partnership is aimed at advancing U-Boat Worx’ growth path in the coming years, which includes increased production capacity, reduction of delivery times, and improvement of global support.

“This is an innovative product that offers the unique experience of deep-sea exploration and ocean diving without getting into scuba gear. I am impressed that U-Boat Worx’ team has established the company as the market leader in the field of manned submersibles, notwithstanding the adverse economic environment,” says Tan Sri Lim.

Bert Houtman, founder of U-Boat Worx, says: “My vision has always been to create a series of safe and reliable submersibles that provide a unique underwater experience. Our new partner Tan Sri Lim, who is involved in diverse industries including casinos, resorts, theme parks, oil and gas, cruise liners and innovative yacht construction, will allow us to execute my vision whilst simultaneously increasing our exposure in the Asia-Pacific region.”

U-Boat Worx currently has an order book that includes delivery of manned submersibles in 2014 to superyacht owners, scientific research institutes and tourist operators.

Exa Limited is the appointed distributor in Asia Pacific for U-Boat Worx personal submersibles and will develop and implement a sales and marketing strategy and dealership network in close cooperation with U-Boat Worx.
