August Equity closes latest fund at hard cap of GBP200m

August Equity has closed its latest fund, August Equity Partners III, having reached its hard cap of GBP200m.

August Equity has already completed two investments from the fund, both of which were completed in off-market transactions.

In September 2013 it acquired Minerva Education, an operator of independent day schools offering an outstanding private education.

In November 2013 August Equity completed the acquisition of Essex-based The Old Deanery Care Village, which has two care homes, The Old Deanery and St. Mary’s Court, on its 10 acre site.

August Equity managing partner Philip Rattle says: “We are delighted with the fundraising of our third fund and in particular to have the backing of a strong base of blue chip investors.  We have worked hard with our management teams to exceed our investors expectations and the successful fundraise is a testament to that effort.  We are currently working on a number of investment opportunities which we expect to complete in the coming months which will continue our proven strategy of investing between GBP10m and GBP30m of equity in deals in the healthcare, education, technology services and business services sectors.”
