Professor Janice H Hammond of Harvard Business School has joined the advisory board of the Women’s Venture Capital Fund (WVCF).

Hammond (pictured) is the Jesse Philips Professor of Manufacturing at Harvard Business School. She currently teaches Technology and Operations Management in the HBS MBA programme.

During her long tenure at Harvard Business School, Professor Hammond has taught a wide range of management and businesses courses in the MBA programme as well as several HBS Executive Education courses for general managers.

Currently Hammond serves as programme chair for the HBS Executive Education International Women’s Foundation and Women’s Leadership Programs. She previously served as senior associate dean, director of faculty planning.

"The Women's Venture Capital Fund was referred to me by two highly regarded HBS Professors and it was that referral together with the impressive quality and calibre of the managing directors that made it an easy decision for me to join the Fund," says Hammond.  "Based on my teaching and consulting experience, I have learned that diversity leads to higher performance and better financial results."

"We are honoured to have Professor Hammond who brings extensive experience and valuable skills and insights join our Advisory Board," say Edith Dorsen and Monica Dodi, co-founders and managing directors. "We are especially pleased to have an esteemed HBS faculty member on our advisory board given that the Women's Venture Capital Fund was incubated at our 25th HBS Reunion and many of our investors are fellow HBS alumni.  The Women's Venture Capital Fund will continue to work closely with our distinguished group of advisors to change the paradigm and invest in successful female entrepreneurs building scalable, capital efficient companies."
