Highland Capital Partners promotes Andy Hunt to partner

Venture capital firm Highland Capital Partners has promoted Andy Hunt to partner.

In a move that strengthens the investment effort in New York, Hunt will continue to focus on sourcing and leading new investments in consumer technology and ecommerce.

"Andy understands the entrepreneurial journey, and as an insider to New York's start-up community he has demonstrated a great capacity to identify and engage with the next generation of technology leaders," says Bob Davis, partner with Highland. "This promotion recognises the meaningful achievements Andy has made to date and our confidence in his efforts going forward."

In addition to his role at Highland, Hunt is a co-founder and director at Warby Parker Eyewear.

Hunt joined Highland in 2011, focusing on consumer internet opportunities in New York. Among others he is currently involved in the firm's investments in Harry's, Oyster and OpenSky.

Prior to founding Warby Parker, Hunt worked in healthcare IT venture capital at SV Life Sciences and as an investment banker at Cain Brothers in New York.
