Cavendish leads on sale of The Communications Agency to Communisis

Mid-market M&A firm Cavendish Corporate Finance has advised on the sale of The Communications Agency (TCA) to Communisis, a provider of personalised customer communication services.

TCA, which was founded over 25 years ago, is an agency that specialises in brand response and customer relationship marketing. The company’s clients include RBS, American Express, Vue and Argos.

The acquisition offers scope for growth and revenue synergies with the Communisis’ existing client portfolio and the cross-selling of other marketing services in social media, video, digital development and content marketing.

TCA, which is based in London, has 42 employees, all of whom will be transferring to Communisis.

Cavendish, which advised TCA on the transaction, has so far completed on the sale of seven deals in 2014.

Linda Sullivan, partner and head of media and digital at Cavendish, says: “This was a great result for our clients and is a cornerstone acquisition for Communisis’ new design division. The marketing and communications sector is buoyant and there is an interesting universe of buyers for creative, digital agencies, as this transaction illustrates.  We aim to be as creative as our clients in thinking outside the box and delivering the best results.”

Andy Blundell, Communisis chief executive, says: “TCA is a long-established, award-winning and well-respected agency that brings an impressive range of new capabilities and experience to the group’s higher margin design segment. It will sit at the heart of Communisis’ creative offering. The growth prospects are excellent.”
