Impax adds three to private equity infrastructure team

Impax Asset Management has added three new hires to its private equity infrastructure team.

Within private equity infrastructure, the firm manages two funds that follow an industrially focused, value-add “buy, build and sell” strategy, investing in renewable power generation and related assets.

Its latest fund, a EUR330 million investment fund that achieved final close in 2011, is now close to 75 per cent invested.

Peter Rossbach, managing director of the private equity infrastructure team, says: “We are delighted to announce these appointments which bring a broad range of analytic experience and expert support to strengthen the team.   In particular, we are strengthening our asset management capabilities and adding to our project assessment and transaction skills.”

Babaola Omiyale joins from the energy and power team at Rothschild’s investment banking team where he worked on a number of renewable energy and infrastructure transactions since joining the firm in 2011.

Lewis Haffey joins Impax from Clean World Capital, a renewable energy investment advisory boutique based in London, where he worked primarily on wind energy transactions in Finland and Sweden, and bioenergy mandates in the UK and northern Europe. Haffey started his career as an equity derivatives trader at Liquid Capital Markets.

Aaron Donoghue has extensive experience of development, construction, operations and asset management of wind and solar projects in the EU, Australia and New Zealand.  He has worked for industry leaders including RES and Vestas and was vice-president technical at Rengen Energy.
